Every day many people across the country have to lose their lives in road accidents. In view of the increasing road accidents, now the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is going to be strict. Actually, the figures of road accidents in UP are increasing every year. CM Yogi has expressed displeasure over these increasing accidents. Let us tell you that on the previous day, UP CM Yogi Adityanath informed that about 26,000 people lose their lives in road accidents every year in UP. The CM said that the reason behind these accidents is lack of awareness. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called a meeting of the State Road Safety Council on the first day of the new year and issued important instructions to all the departments related to road safety. Being strict on this, CM Yogi Adityanath has said that “If a vehicle is repeatedly challaned, then both its license and permit should be cancelled.”

Annoyed with the increasing road accidents, CM Yogi has ordered the District Road Safety Committees to hold their meetings under the chairmanship of District Magistrates by January 5. Apart from this, he also talked about organizing awareness programs on road safety rules in schools and colleges across the state from January 6 to 10. Meanwhile, the CM said that “this awareness campaign should not be limited to Lucknow only.” The CM said that “a road safety meeting should be held every month under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate. In this, the Superintendent of Police, Municipal Commissioner, RTO, PWD, Education Department and Health Department officials must be present.” On Wednesday, CM Yogi said that “Special attention needs to be paid to ensure that minors are not able to drive e-rickshaws and other vehicles. E-rickshaws must be registered. Signage should be installed on the roads compulsorily. This action should be compulsorily linked to Fastag. Hoardings appealing from the departments related to information, transport and road safety should be installed.” Yogi also said that “It should be put outside all districts, tehsils, police stations and municipal bodies. Apart from this, passersby and common people should be made aware that they should not run away after seeing an accident, but should take the injured to the nearest hospital or trauma center within the golden hour.”

CM Yogi said that “25,000-26,000 deaths occur annually in road accidents. He attributed this to awareness. Expressing concern over these figures, he said that “Road Safety Month should be implemented effectively not only in Lucknow but in all 75 districts of the state. The state government will review the progress of these district-level initiatives every three months.” He has asked the officials to identify the districts and places prone to accidents as well as find out the reasons (Yogi government orders). Along with this, he also emphasized on what steps can be taken in that direction. Meanwhile, the CM said that “the fitness of buses should also be taken care of. Vending zones should be created in every body to accommodate street vendors. Modified silencers and horns on bikes should be banned to curb noise pollution and illegal operation of buses causes accidents.”
