Recently, Hindu spiritual leader Chinmay Krishna Das was detained in Bangladesh on charges of treason. After this, minority Hindus living in Bangladesh protested fiercely, terming this arrest illegal. Clashes took place on Tuesday after his arrest. Assistant Public Prosecutor Saifullah Islam was killed in this clash. The minority community there also appealed to the Indian government to intervene and help. Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina strongly condemned the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das and said that “he should be released immediately. Das was arrested earlier this week. Sheikh Hasina said in a statement that “a top spiritual leader of Sanatan Dharma has been unjustly arrested, he should be released immediately.”

A temple was burnt in Chittagong

According to media reports, in a post made by the Awami League on the social media platform X, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that “a temple has been burnt in Chittagong. Earlier, mosques, dargahs, churches, monasteries and houses of the Ahmadiyya community were attacked, vandalized, looted and set on fire. Religious freedom and protection of life and property of people of all communities should be ensured.” Let us tell you that Hasina took refuge in India on August 5 after widespread protests against the Awami League-led government over the reservation system in Bangladesh. After this, Nobel laureate Yunus Salim was given the charge of Chief Advisor to the Government.

Not only this, a group of lawyers of the Bangladesh Supreme Court on Wednesday sent a legal notice to the Bangladesh government demanding a ban on ISKCON, calling it a fundamentalist organization. However, the High Court of Bangladesh had rejected the petition to ban the activities of ISKCON.
