Meerabai Ji was a devotee of Lord Shri Krishna and also a poetess of the 16th century. According to Hindu mythology, he was born in 1498 to Raja Ratan Singh in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Meera was the only child of her parents, but when she was only two years old, her mother passed away. Meera was brought up by her grandfather, who was a devotee of Lord Srihari Vishnu. It was because of his grandfather that Meeraji continued to get the opportunity to meet prominent saints and sages, which increased his devotion and knowledge.

In the year 1516, Mirabai was married to Prince Bhoj Raj, son of Rana Sanga of Mewar. Her husband was wounded during the war with the Delhi Sultanate in 1518 and died in early 1521 due to his prolonged illness. After the death of her husband, Mirabai’s devotion to Lord Krishna deepened. She started visiting the temple regularly and moved towards spirituality. She became absorbed in bhajans and kirtans, where she sang as well as danced with Krishna devotees.
However, her in-laws did not like her way of life, and they tried to harm her many times. But every time Lord Shri Krishna saved them. Mirabai Ji was a rebel in society, as her religious activities were not acceptable due to her widowhood. Society wanted him to follow the traditional rules, but he started spending more time in temples and meeting sages and saints to listen to the stories of Shri Krishna.
During this time, he composed many devotional songs dedicated to Lord Sri Krishna. Mirabai Ji used to worship Krishna since childhood and used to talk to his idols. It is said that she could feel the presence of Lord Sri Krishna and had full faith in him. Her devotion made her a rebel who kept worshipping her idol by breaking every bond.
He is considered one of the most famous poets of North India, who wrote many devotional songs and poems for Lord Krishna. According to mythological beliefs, Mirabai spent a long time in Vrindavan and then moved to Dwarka in 1547. One day while dancing there, his body got stuck in the idol of Lord Shri Krishna, and then no one could find him.
