For the first time, a Hindu has been appointed as a police officer in Pakistan. The award was received by Dr Rajendra Prasad. According to media reports, this is the first time in the history of Pakistan Police that a Hindu officer has achieved this level of rank. Rajendra Meghwar took charge as ASP (Assistant Superintendent of Police) in Gulberg area of Faisalabad on December 6.

Rajendra Meghwar comes from a rural area of Badin district in Sindh province. He achieved this by clearing the civil services examination.
