Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi held BJP responsible for Sambhal violence, demanded Supreme Court’s intervention

The uproar over the violence that took place during the survey on November 24 at Jama Masjid in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh is not stopping. Last Sunday, protesters opposing the survey of the Mughal-era Jama Masjid in Sambhal on the orders of the court attacked the police. According to the police, protesters opposing the survey at Sambhal’s Jama Masjid clashed with the police. Four people died in the firing and stone pelting during this violence and a total of 20 people including security and administration personnel were injured. Like every time, politics has started on this violence as well. The entire opposition is attacking the Yogi government over this. Not only Rahul Gandhi but his elder sister and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also accused the Yogi Adityanath government of creating division while sitting in power and urged the Supreme Court to take cognizance of the matter and provide justice.

On this matter, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi targeted the state and central government and wrote on Twitter that “The biassed and hasty attitude of the state government on the recent dispute in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh is very unfortunate. I have deep condolences for those who have lost their loved ones in the violence and firing.” Rahul further wrote that “The action taken by the administration without listening to all the parties and insensitively spoiled the atmosphere and it led to the death of many people, for which the BJP government is directly responsible. The BJP is using power to create a rift and discrimination between Hindu-Muslim communities.” He further wrote that “I request the Supreme Court to intervene in this matter as soon as possible and do justice. My appeal is to maintain peace and mutual harmony. We all have to join together to ensure that India moves forward on the path of unity and constitution, not communalism and hatred.”

 The administration acted in haste without listening to anyone – Priyanka Gandhi

While posting on the social media platform X in this matter, Priyanka Gandhi wrote that “The attitude of the state government regarding the sudden violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh is very unfortunate. In such a sensitive matter, the administration acted in haste without listening to anyone. Taking sides without taking both the parties into confidence shows that the government itself has spoiled the atmosphere there.” Priyanka Gandhi further said that “Trying to spread discrimination, oppression and division by sitting in power is neither in the interest of the people nor in the interest of the country. The Honourable Supreme Court should take cognizance of the matter and do justice.” She said that “I appeal to the people of the state to maintain peace in all circumstances.”

Internet services were shut down in view of the tension prevailing after the violence

Let us tell you that in view of the tension prevailing after the violence in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, internet services have been shut down and orders have been given to keep all schools up to class 12 closed on Monday. Apart from this, prohibitory orders have been imposed in the district under section 163 of BNS till November 30. Under this, entry of outsiders in the district has been banned till November 30.
