Thursday was a very interesting day in parliamentary history. Instead of raising public issues in the Parliament, the MPs of the country got into a fight among themselves. The funny thing is that they turned the Parliament into a street spectacle. In fact, former minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi was injured in a scuffle between the opposition and NDA MPs in the Parliament premises over the alleged insult of the Constitution maker Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar. BJP accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of pushing Sarangi, although the Congress leader rejected this allegation. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra rejected the BJP’s allegations of Rahul Gandhi pushing someone and claimed that “all this is a conspiracy to save Home Minister Amit Shah. She alleged that “BJP MPs indulged in hooliganism and pushed down Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge.”
Kharge ji was pushed and thrown to the ground in front of my eyes – Priyanka Gandhi
Talking to reporters in the Parliament premises, Priyanka Gandhi said that “Rahul ji was going to Parliament carrying Ambedkar’s picture and raising Jai Bhim slogans. Who stopped him from entering Parliament? We were protesting for many days, but no one stopped us.” Meanwhile, she claimed that “this conspiracy has been hatched to save Amit Shah ji’s skin only by saying that Rahul has pushed someone. Kharge ji was pushed and thrown to the ground in front of my eyes. After this, a CPI(M) MP was pushed and fell on her.” During this, Priyanka Gandhi challenged the BJP leaders and said, “If they respect Babasaheb Ambedkar, then they should show it by raising the slogan of Jai Bhim.” The Congress leader said, “If the country had any illusion, then it should be dispelled now that these people will protect the Constitution. Their real sentiment has come out of Amit Shah’s mouth.”
