Owaisi slams Centre during debate on Constitution

Discussions are being held in Parliament to mark 75 years of the Constitution in the country. The winter session of Parliament is underway, and in the meantime, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will respond to the allegations of the opposition in the Lok Sabha today during the debate on the Constitution. Earlier, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi too attacked the government on the issue. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi also criticised the move. Owaisi made serious allegations about Muslims’ properties related to mosques and waqfs. 

What did Asaduddin Owaisi say? 

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Asaduddin Owaisi said, “Prime Minister says Waqf has nothing to do with the Constitution. But you read Article 26. You want to take away the Waqf properties on the strength of your power. He alleged that Urdu language was being destroyed and attempts were being made to wipe out Muslim culture. 

Taking a jibe at the central government, Owaisi said, “BJP’s cultural movement is to promote Hindutva. Efforts are being made to seize Waqf properties in December. Muslims can’t win elections. Muslim girls are being stopped from wearing hijab. Mosques are now in danger and cow vigilantes are killing. 

” He also spoke on the issue of delimitation and said, “Let the Sachar Committee report be implemented in delimitation. The conspiracies to seize Waqf properties should be stopped. ”

Opposition attacks government over Constitution

This discussion on the Constitution has started a new round of political debate in the Lok Sabha. After the sharp allegations of Rahul Gandhi and Asaduddin Owaisi, now Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response is going to further heat up this debate.
