Early morning of 7th May 2025, India took a historic step against terror. The Indian Army carried out precision and successful air strikes on 9 terror launch pads in Pakistan and PoK under Operation Sindoor. This operation is being considered a symbol of India’s determination and retaliatory power against terrorists.
Important points from the press conference
Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa were also present at the event. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said that the operation was carried out in such a way that no civilian was harmed. All the locations chosen for this air strike were carefully identified. He clarified that these 9 terrorist bases were selected on the basis of old and active bases associated with terrorism.
Muridke: Root of terror
One of the main targets of Operation Sindoor was Muridke. This is the same place where David Headley and Ajmal Kasab, the two main accused in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, had trained. Lt. Col. Sophia Qureshi said that the demolition of this base is an important step towards ending the history of terrorism.
Other major terror targets
Col Sophia also shared information about eight other locations. These include Markaz Abbas in Kotli, Markaz Ahle Hadees in Barnala, Sarjal Camp, Mahmoona Camp, Bilal Camp, Bahawalpur Camp, Gulpur Camp and Sawai Camp. Evidence of terrorist activities at all these locations had already been collected by Indian intelligence agencies. Keeping in mind the security of the citizens, they were targeted precisely so that the common people do not suffer any harm.

Message from the Foreign Secretary
Addressing a press conference, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said the strike was in response to the “inhuman terrorist attack” in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. In that attack, terrorists shot innocent people in front of their families. Misri made it clear that India will no longer tolerate any kind of terrorist activity. “This operation is not only a military action but also a symbol of India’s strategic and moral commitment.
Role of intelligence agencies
Indian intelligence agencies played an important role behind the success of Operation Sindoor. Correct identification of terror hideouts, monitoring of movements and anticipating possible threats were the foundation of this operation. Indian agencies ensured that the terrorists suffered heavy losses in the attack but civilian structures were not damaged.
Operation Sindoor has once again made it clear that India is capable of going to any extent against terror. This mission is not only a military success, but also a strong political and diplomatic message – India will not sit quiet anymore.
