Mumbai terror attack mastermind and Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki has died. According to Pakistani media reports, Makki was ill for the past few days and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Lahore.

Makki was the deputy chief of Jamaat-ud-Dawa 

Makki was the brother-in-law of Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed and also the deputy chief of JuD. According to terror outfit JuD, Makki suffered a heart attack this morning and died in hospital. 

Makki was sentenced to six months imprisonment by an anti-terrorism court in Pakistan for terror financing in 2020. Since then, there has been no further discussion on the issue.

He was declared a global terrorist in 2023 

The United Nations designated Makki a global terrorist in 2023. Under this, his property was confiscated, travel was banned and possession of arms was prohibited.

The Pakistan Muttahida Muslim League (PML) condoled the death of Makki, describing him as a supporter of Pakistani ideology. Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki, who was involved in many cases of terrorism, has now said goodbye to this world.
