One Rainfall & Total Chaos… Aqua Line Turns Too Real

Mumbai Rain 2025

Heavy rain hit Mumbai overnight and continued into the morning, causing flooding in many parts of the city. Areas like Kurla, Sion, Dadar, and Parel were the worst affected, with roads filled with water, making it hard for vehicles to move. Public transport and some flights were delayed or disrupted because of the waterlogging. According to weather experts, Nariman Point recorded 40 mm of rain in just one hour. Grant Road, Colaba, and Byculla also received heavy showers. Light rain continued in both the eastern and western suburbs of the city.

Transportation issues due to the unexpected rain and bad weather

Some flights got delayed. Spice jet says, “Due to bad weather (heavy rain) in Mumbai (BOM), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status.”
Air India advisory ,”Rain and thunderstorms are impacting flight operations in Mumbai. To ensure a smooth travel experience, we encourage our passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport.”
Trains are super important in Mumbai because lots of people use them every day to go to work or school. So when the trains are late, everything gets messed up. People have to wait for a long time, and the train stations get really crowded. It becomes tiring and stressful, especially for the elderly and children.

One of the worst things about water logging is that it also affects homes. Some houses in low-lying areas get filled with dirty rainwater. It spoils people’s furniture, food, and even clothes. Sometimes the power goes out, and people have to live without electricity or clean drinking water for hours or even days. It’s really scary and uncomfortable.

There are also health problems when water collects everywhere. Dirty water can mix with drinking water, and that can make people sick. Diseases like dengue and malaria can spread because of mosquitoes that grow in standing water. So, after the rain, doctors and hospitals get really busy treating people.

All people now have to be aware that the waterlogging and the famous ‘Mumbai rains’ are back and this time much earlier than expected. Climate change every year has been a severe problem and even this year. During rains people need to be more cautious and take proper prevention as health hazards increase.
