3 Flights Received Bomb Threats

On October 14, the news of the Mumbai flight bomb threat caused a stir in air travel. Three different flights taking off from Mumbai received a bomb threat, triggering panic at the airport, and security agencies immediately swung into action.

The first bomb threat was received on an Air India flight to New York. The flight took off from Mumbai and was bound for Delhi. Hours later, two more IndiGo flights from Mumbai to Jeddah and Muscat received similar threats.

IndiGo’s flight 6E 56 from Mumbai to Jeddah and flight 6E 1275 from Mumbai to Muscat were affected. Both flights received bomb threats minutes before they were scheduled to take off. The two aircraft were then taken to an isolated location, and a security check was initiated.” IndiGo said in a statement that” “they are conducting the necessary safety checks in compliance with the regulations.” The company helped the passengers and also gave them food items. Before the threat to IndiGo flights, Air India’s Mumbai-New York flight had also received a similar threat. The flight had 239 passengers on board.

According to reports, the Mumbai airport received a bomb threat through a message on X (earlier Twitter). The message came after the flight took off. The flight was diverted to Delhi’s IGI Airport. All the passengers were deplaned, and the aircraft was thoroughly checked. It is not yet clear whether the threat was real or a hoax. Investigation into this case is currently underway.
