The central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a big gift to millions of workers of the country. The minimum wage rate has been increased by revising the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for workers. Giving information about this decision of the government, the Ministry of Labor said that while the minimum wage of unskilled workers has been made Rs 783 per day, the minimum wage of high skilled workers has been made Rs 1,035 per day. According to the Ministry of Labor, the purpose of this decision is to improve the living standards of workers. Millions of workers of the country will get the benefit of this.
This is the second amendment in labour rates this year
Giving information about this increase in the minimum wage rates of workers, the Ministry of Labor said that the central government has made this amendment in VDA to help the workers and labourers of the unorganised sector in their better living. This increase in wage rates will come into effect from the first date of next month i.e. 1 October 2024 and workers will be given benefits from April 2024. Let us tell you that this is the second amendment in labour rates by the Central Government this year, earlier in the month of April also the labour rates were increased.
Unskilled workers will now get this much wages
After the latest amendment by the Central Government in the rates of minimum labourers, now the minimum wage rate of unskilled workers like cleaning, construction, farming and loading and unloading of goods has become Rs 783 per day. According to this, if we add four Sundays, then these workers will now be able to get up to Rs 20,358 every month. Similarly, the minimum wage rate for semi-skilled workers has been made Rs 868 per day. Workers in this category will be able to get up to Rs 22,568 every month.
Wages of skilled and high skilled workers
On the other hand, if we talk about skilled workers, then clerks, unarmed watchmen and artisans involved in construction work will get a minimum wage of Rs 954 per day. According to this, these skilled workers will be able to earn up to Rs 24,804 every month. Similarly, high skilled workers will now get a minimum wage of Rs 1035 per day. These workers can earn up to Rs 26,910 every month.
