According to the news, on November 7, armed militants entered a house in a village in Jiribam district and brutalised the mother of three children. The 31-year-old tribal woman was brutally tortured before being raped. After subjecting her to every possible torture, the militants burnt her alive. The autopsy report says that the woman was treated worse than beasts. According to media reports, the FIR lodged by the woman’s husband states that she was raped before being “brutally murdered” inside the house.

A metal nail has been reported to be embedded in her left thigh
The autopsy report has revealed that the attackers had also tortured her in various ways. The autopsy even mentions a “wound on the back of the right thigh” and a metal nail embedded in the left thigh. The report says, “The right upper limb, parts of both lower limbs and facial structure are missing.” It is worth noting that the post-mortem conducted at Silchar Medical College in Assam could not ascertain whether the woman was raped or not. Do you know why? Because seeing her burnt body, the doctors completely ruled out any possibility of collecting smears from the woman’s private parts.
