Maharashtra Assembly elections are to be held, in view of which the Model Code (Amid Model Code)of Conduct has been implemented in the state. After its implementation, the monitoring team formed on the instructions of the Election Commission is on alert regarding items like cash, liquor and other possible temptations. Meanwhile, the police have arrested 12 people carrying cash in Kalbadevi in South Mumbai on the basis of secret information. Rs 2.3 crore in cash has been recovered from the 12 arrested people.

According to the information, Lokmanya Tilak Marg police station and election officials stopped some people on Thursday night on the basis of secret information received and when they were stopped and searched, Rs 2.3 crore in cash was recovered from them. The big thing is that during the search, the people carrying cash could neither show any document related to this cash nor could they give any reason for carrying such a huge amount.
12 people carrying cash were arrested
In the related case, the officials said that “paperwork was done in this case till morning. After interrogation, the money was seized. At the same time, 12 people carrying cash have been arrested.” He further said that “the cash has been handed over to the Income Tax Department for further investigation.” Let us tell you that in view of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, voting will be held on November 20. While the counting of votes and the announcement of election results will be done on November 23.
