There has been a fracture among the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) even before the two to three months before the Maharashtra elections. We also expect him to contest for chief minister in the upcoming assembly elections. Under Uddhav Thackeray’s direction, the Shiv Sena wishes to run for office. It is clearly evident that Prithviraj Chavan, the leader of the Congress, will not run for chief minister in the upcoming elections. The party with the most seats after the elections will choose the chief minister.
In Delhi, Uddhav Thackeray converses with party leaders
In order to establish a political formula for the Maharashtra elections, Uddhav Thackeray traveled to Delhi. He spoke with the central leaders of the Congress there about seat sharing and other political matters. Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena, is reportedly in talks with the Congress to become the next chief minister. Shiv Sena (UBT) workers are pushing Uddhav Thackeray as the next chief minister, even though no prominent Congress leader has made any statements about this to date.
The majority of seats will presumably go to Congress
Sources claim that Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, and NCP chairman Sharad Pawar have reached a final stage in their seat-sharing negotiations. In the assembly elections, the Congress has decided to run for the most seats possible. The Congress will allot seats to NCP (Shapa) and Shiv Sena (UBT). The recent Lok Sabha elections will determine the formula for this.
The coalition is advocating for the role of Chief Minister
However, the chief ministerial face is the most contentiously discussed matter inside the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. Sanjay Raut, a spokesman for the Senate (UBT), warned that running for office without selecting a candidate for chief minister could be disastrous. The Maha Vikas Aghadi nominated Uddhav Thackeray for the Chief Minister’s position in 2019, allowing him to lead the administration for 2.5 years. He should also be in charge of the assembly elections. Congress and the NCP, however, reject Sanjay Raut’s reasoning. Both parties believe that an election would choose the Chief Minister.
