This time 4% more voting took place in Maharashtra assembly elections than last time, this was not expected from Mumbaikars

unexpected voting turnout

Voting started at 7 am on Wednesday for all 288 assembly seats of Maharashtra Assembly. The big thing is that people have decided the fate of more than 4,100 candidates at 1,00,186 booths. This year the number of booths is also more than the number of booths set up in the 2019 elections. According to the information, there were a total of 96,654 booths in the year 2019. Talking about the voting percentage, the Election Commission has estimated that more than 65% voting has been recorded. Which is about 4% more than the last assembly elections. Let us tell you that in the assembly elections held in the year 2019, 61.74% voting took place here.

A total of 73.68 percent voting took place in Gadchiroli district

A total of 65.11% voting took place in this assembly election in Maharashtra, which is about 4% more than the last assembly elections. The good thing in this election is that a total of 73.68 percent voting took place in the Naxal-affected Gadchiroli district. Whereas only 52.07% voting took place in the financial capital Mumbai. However, in the 2019 elections, only 50.67% votes were cast in Mumbai. Looking at the vote percentage, it can be said that the people of Mumbai should learn something from those living in the Naxal-affected Gadchiroli district. Like every time, this time too Mumbaikars did not take the elections seriously.

A total of 4,136 candidates contested the elections this year

In the elections for the 288-member assembly of the state, the BJP, which is part of the Mahayuti alliance, fielded its candidates on 149 seats, Shiv Sena on 81 seats and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP on 59 seats. So Congress, which is part of the MVA alliance, fielded 101 candidates, Uddhav Sena 95 and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) 86 candidates. Apart from this, BSP has fielded 237 candidates and AIMIM 17 candidates. If seen, the number of candidates has increased by 28% this time as compared to the state assembly elections of the year 2019. This year 4,136 candidates contested the elections, while in the 2019 elections this number was 3,239. Among these candidates, 2,086 were independents. At the same time, rebels are in the fray in more than one and a half hundred constituencies.

Election results will come on November 23

In this election, while on the one hand the ruling Mahayuti alliance is trying its best to retain power once again, on the other hand, the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance is hoping to return to power in the state by performing well in this state election like the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. However, the results coming on November 23 will make it clear whether the Mahayuti will return to power in the state or the MVA will be successful in forming its government. It is worth noting that the MVA alliance had won 30 out of 48 seats in the state in the Lok Sabha elections held this year.
