There is still a long way to go before the dates of Maharashtra Assembly Elections are announced, but political parties have already started fielding their candidates in the electoral fray. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has started this from Mumbai. MNS has announced its candidates for Mumbai’s Shivadi Assembly and Pandharpur-Mangalwedha Assembly seats. While MNS has given ticket to Bala Nandgaonkar from Shivadi Assembly constituency, Dilip Dhotre has been fielded from Pandharpur-Mangalwedha Assembly seat.
Elections are likely to be held in October this year on 288 assembly seats of Maharashtra. There is still two to three months left for the election bugle to be blown, but even before that MNS has put pressure on other political parties by fielding two of its candidates. Bala Nandgaonkar, who got the ticket for Shivadi Assembly, has also been an MLA from here in the year 2009. At present, Shivsena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) party holds the Shivadi assembly seat.
Election bugle blown against BJP
On the other hand, BJP currently holds the Pandharpur-Mangalwedha assembly seat. Raj Thackeray has also blown the bugle to contest against BJP by fielding his candidate on this seat. With this, the option of Mahagathbandhan in the election also seems to be ending. In such a situation, a triple contest can be seen in Mumbai in the upcoming assembly elections (Maharashtra Assembly Election).
MNS candidate will also contest against Aditya Thackeray
According to media reports, MNS can soon field its candidate against Aditya Thackeray from Worli assembly constituency. In a press conference in Solapur, Raj Thackeray said that we have nothing to do with which candidate of which party is contesting from Worli. We have decided our candidate, his name will be announced soon.
