The Maharashtra government has taken a big decision to reduce road accidents in Maharashtra. In view of better safety of citizens, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has joined hands with Google. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has asked the officials of the State Transport Department to increase the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to reduce road accidents (Maharashtra AI initiative). According to the information received, a release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office on Monday said that “Fadnavis also directed to implement the policy of removing all vehicles older than 15 years.”
Buses older than 15 years will be removed from use
The Maharashtra government has signed an agreement with Google. The Chief Minister has asked the Transport Department to promote the use of AI (Maharashtra AI initiative) to strengthen the safety of the area using the agreement. The Chief Minister reviewed the next 100-day action plan for the Transport, Ports and State Airport Authority departments in a meeting held at Sahyadri Guest House. He stressed the need to remove all public and private vehicles older than 15 years from use. According to the release, more than 13,000 old government vehicles will be removed from use. Apart from this, buses older than 15 years of the State Transport Corporation will either be removed from use or LNG or CNG kits will be installed in them to improve their performance.

The outline of the plan of the electric vehicle policy was also presented
During this, the Chief Minister also presented the outline of the plan of the state’s (Maharashtra AI initiative) electric vehicle policy. It will be released in the next three years. Fadnavis also directed the Transport Department to start bike taxi and maxi cab services to increase the ease of movement in cities. Apart from this, he has emphasized the importance of preparing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the safety of buses, especially in accident prone areas.
