The Sun will remain in Sagittarius until January 14, 2025. After this, the sun will enter the Capricorn zodiac, which is celebrated as Makar Sankranti. Meanwhile, the period from December 16 to January 14 will be of Kharmas.

The religious and astrological significance of Kharmas

Kharmas is considered to be a time of prohibition for religiously important but auspicious works. The Sun is in Sagittarius or Pisces at this time, due to which religiously auspicious tasks like marriage, home entry, and the beginning of new tasks are not considered auspicious.

Auspicious activities are prohibited during the month of Shravan. The following should be avoided at this time:

  • Marriage – Doing things like marriage or engagement in the month of Kharmas is considered inauspicious. This can cause problems in your married life.

  • Ring Ceremony- Engagement, ring ceremony or other auspicious events should also not be done at this time.

  • Donation: Donating to the poor and helping the needy brings positive energy.
