Justin Trudeau

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has resigned. If reports are to be believed, Steen Trudeau may soon resign as leader of the Liberal Party. The Canadian newspaper ‘The Globe and Mail’ has claimed this in its report on Sunday. According to the report, Justin Trudeau may step down within the next one or two days. Recently, there has been a huge decline in his popularity, and he is also facing opposition within the party. According to various surveys, the conservative party led by Pierre Polievre could come to power in the upcoming election. Although it is not certain when Trudeau will resign, it is believed that he may step down before the national caucus meeting scheduled for Wednesday.

The NDP also left the party

According to media reports, the removal of Justin Trudeau as the leader of the Liberal Party is also being considered. It is not clear whether he will step down immediately after the resignation or continue till a new leader is appointed. Trudeau has been in power in Canada for the past decade, but his popularity has seen a steep decline in recent times. The NDP, led by Jagmeet Singh, had also recently withdrawn its support to the Trudeau government. A recent poll said 73 per cent of Canadians want Trudeau to step down as prime minister and leader of the Liberal Party, including 43 per cent of Liberal voters.

Why are Canadians angry?

There are several reasons behind the decline in popularity of Justin Trudeau’s government. These mainly include economic problems, sharp increases in house prices, and immigration issues. After the Corona epidemic, inflation in Canada had increased to 8 per cent, although at present it is below two per cent. The unemployment rate is also a big issue, which is around six percent. In addition, the Trudeau government’s carbon tax program is being criticized by opposition parties.

Rising house prices are also a big problem in Canada. Buying a house in big cities has become difficult for common people, and the government has failed to solve this problem.

Immigration is also an important issue in Canada. Although the Trudeau government has made new policies to control the number of immigrants, this has not reduced the resentment of citizens. Increasing immigration has put increasing pressure on Canada’s health services and other public services. Many citizens are also dissatisfied with the growing influence of Khalistanis. After the resignation of Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister recently, the pressure on Trudeau to resign has increased further.
