Now once again minority Hindus are being targeted in Bangladesh. It is reported that ISKCON’s prominent leader Chinmay Krishna Das has been taken into custody in Bangladesh.
A case has been registered for treason and disturbing communal harmony
The Dhaka police have registered a case against him for treason as well as disturbing communal harmony. In fact, Chinmay Krishna Das had recently led a protest against the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Due to which Bangladesh Police arrested Chinmay Krishna Das Brahmachari from the area of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday.

He was accused of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh
Bangladesh Police spokesperson Rezaul Karim said that “Das was taken into custody as per the request of the police.” In the related case, he said that Das will now be handed over to the concerned police station for further legal process. ” Let us tell you that on October 30, a case was registered against 19 people including Das at the Kotwali police station in Chittagong. He was accused of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh during a rally of the Hindu community in the New Market area of Chittagong.
Demanded the Indian government to intervene in the matter
ISKCON has confirmed this through a post on the social media platform X and has also appealed to the Indian government to intervene in the matter. He further wrote that “We have received disturbing reports that Sri Chinmay Krishna Das, one of the prominent leaders of ISKCON Bangladesh, has been detained by the Dhaka Police. It is outrageous to make baseless allegations that ISKCON has anything to do with terrorism anywhere in the world. ISKCON further wrote in its post that “I urge the Government of India to take immediate steps and talk to the Government of Bangladesh and tell them that we are a peace-loving devotional movement. We want the Government of Bangladesh to release Chinmay Krishna Das immediately. We pray to Lord Krishna for the safety of these devotees.”
People of Hindu community protested against the arrest
The matter of Chinmay Krishna Das being taken into custody is gaining momentum. Protests have intensified in Bangladesh for his release. In many areas, the Hindu community is taking to the streets demanding his release. Let us tell you that hundreds of people of the Hindu community took to the streets at Cheragi Pahad intersection in Chittagong and demanded the immediate release of Das. Similarly, people of the Hindu community in the capital blocked the Shahbagh intersection late in the evening in protest against the arrest.
