Indian Railways will start 992 special trains for crores of devotees coming to Maha Kumbh

The world’s largest religious event Maha Kumbh is going to be held in Prayagraj from January 12. In view of this, the state government has started gearing up to manage the crowd of crores of pilgrims coming to this Maha Kumbh to be held in the year 2025. As per an estimate, this time more than 40 crore passengers can come. Obviously, the facilities of such a large number of devotees also have to be taken care of. According to the information received, during this time Indian Railways will operate a total of 992 special trains. In this, a total of Rs 933 crore will be spent for train facilities and passenger convenience. Apart from this, under this initiative, a project of Rs 3,700 crore is also underway to double the railway track within the Prayagraj division. The purpose of these special trains is to accommodate lakhs of devotees coming to this event. Not only this, 6,580 regular services and 140 trains passing through Prayagraj area will make additional stops to serve the large crowd.

Railway tracks of Prayagraj division and adjoining areas are also being doubled

According to the information received, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav not only held a high level meeting regarding this but also took stock of the preparations. Along with this, the preparations of the railways were also shared with the X handle. Not only this, the railway tracks of Prayagraj division and adjoining areas are also being doubled. So that the facilities of trains continue to run smoothly during the Kumbh Mela. Giving information, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that “Indian Railways is fully prepared to provide a record number of trains, advanced tracks and better facilities for the devotees for Kumbh Mela 2025.”

According to media reports, this year the Ministry of Railways has increased the number of special trains by 42% as compared to 694 trains operated during the year 2019 Kumbh Mela. This significant increase reflects the government’s effort to accommodate an estimated 6 crore pilgrims in Prayagraj and facilitate the movement of 20 to 30 crore people across India during the Maha Kumbh. Not only this, apart from transport facilities, security measures have also been given priority in the state. The government wants to make the journey to Kumbh Mela memorable and comfortable for every person.
