India Gate

BJP Minority Morcha National President Jamal Siddiqui demands renaming of India Gate to Bharat Mata Dwar’. He has proposed this by sending a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and said that this will be a true way to pay tribute to the martyrs of India.

What did Jamal Siddiqui write in the letter?

In his letter, Jamal Siddiqui wrote, “Under your leadership, the feeling of patriotism and dedication towards Indian culture has been strengthened among 140 crore citizens of the country. During your tenure, the work of healing the wounds left by the Mughals and the British and erasing the traces of slavery has been done, due to which there is an atmosphere of happiness across the country. While you renamed roads named after Aurangzeb as A.P .J. Abdul Kalam Road, you removed the statue of King George V at India Gate and installed the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Also, you changed the name of Rajpath to ‘Kartavya Path’, which is associated with Indian culture. Now, in the same way, I humbly request you to rename India Gate as’ Bharat Mata Dwar ‘so that the memory of thousands of brave soldiers martyred here can get a true tribute.”
