Hassan Nasrallah’s cousin, who was hiding in the bunker, was killed in the Israeli air strike, which sparked a war between Israel, Lebanon and Hezbollah. On the one hand, Israel is single-handedly attacking these enemies and selectively destroying Hezbollah positions. On the other hand, along with Hezbollah, Iran is also attacking Israel. After the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Israel has now claimed to have killed Hezbollah’s successor Hashem Safieddine. It was the cousin of Hassan Nasrallah and was commanding Hezbollah at this time.
The Times of Israel reported that the Israeli military killed Hashem Saifiddin in an airstrike in the Dahieh suburb of Beirut. In this regard, the Israeli army also informed on its social media handle that Hashem Saifiddin was killed. It is being told that this airstrike took place when Hashem Safiddin was meeting with his commanders in a bunker. Several other top Hizbullah commanders are also feared killed in the attack. However, this has still not been confirmed.
According to Reuters, Hashem Saifiddin was recruited into Hezbollah 15 years ago. He was also involved in and served as commander of the Jihad Council, which manages Hezbollah’s military operations. The U.S. State Department designated him a terrorist in 2017. Like Safiuddin Nasrallah, Hashem Saifuddin was also a cleric who wore a black turban indicating descent from the Prophet of Islam. Safiuddin’s public statements were always against Israel and in support of Palestine. “Our history, our guns and our rockets are with you,” he recently told a gathering in the southern suburbs of Beirut supporting Palestinian fighters.”
Saifuddin was also a great critic of American policy. In response to the US pressure on Hezbollah in 2017, Hashem Saifiddin said, The crazy US administration under Trump will not be able to harm our resistance, these sanctions will strengthen our resolve.
