According to the Meteorological Department, the western disturbance is currently active. Due to which there can be heavy rain with thunderstorms in many states including Delhi today. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Mumbai for today as well. Heavy rains with strong winds are likely to occur at isolated places in Mumbai today. There is also a possibility of lightning. The Meteorological Department has advised people to stay indoors.
Rainfall expected in north Maharashtra
At present, a low-pressure area is lying over the Bay of Bengal, and the cyclonic circulation is active. As the monsoon withdraws from north Maharashtra, the humidity level in Maharashtra has also increased significantly. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some areas of the Marathwada region, including Mumbai, today and tomorrow. Moderate to rather heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Vidarbha and Marathwada.
