Haryana BJP Reveals Candidate List: 67 Picks, CM Saini’s New Constituency, and 27 New Entrants

The BJP has made public its candidate list for 67 Haryana assembly seats. Having been in power for ten years, the BJP has changed candidates on forty seats to prevent an anti-incumbency tsunami in the elections. Although two former MPs, one Rajya Sabha MP, and 27 fresh candidates have been included on this BJP list, tickets for eight MLAs—including three ministers—have been deleted. From the Ladwa assembly constituency of Kurukshetra this time, the BJP has nominated Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini. He served as MLA from Karnal before.

Tickets to Ambala Mayor and former minister Vinod Sharma’s wife Shakti Rani Sharma from Kalka, Union Minister Rao Inderjit, and Rajya Sabha MP Kiran Chaudhary’s daughter Shruti Chaudhary from Tosham have been assigned by the BJP. Apart from this, Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta has been nominated from Panchkula, Agriculture Minister Kanwarpal Gurjar from Jagadhri, Minister JP Dalal from Loharu, Minister Moolchand Sharma from Ballabhgarh, Minister Kamal Gupta from Hisar, Minister Aseem Goyal from Ambala City, Minister Subhash Sudha from Thanesar, Minister Mahipal Dhanda from Panipat Rural, and former Home Minister Anil Vij from Ambala Cantt.

Six MLAs including three ministers had their tickets revoked.

This time the BJP has not assigned tickets to its three ministers and eight MLAs. Among those without tickets are MLAs Deepak Mangala, Narendra Gupta, Sitaram Yadav, Sandeep Singh, Laxman Napa, Energy Minister Ranjit Chautala, Sports Minister Sanjay Singh, Minister Vishambar Valmiki, Apart from this, the BJP has not granted tickets to those candidates who have lost the elections two times.

Ticket distribution finds place for all categories.

Of the 67 BJP candidates on the first list, forty belong in the general category. Thirteen Jats, nine Brahmins, eight Punjabis, five Vaishyas, two Bishnoi, one Jat Sikh, and one candidate from the Rod caste comprise them. Fourteen members of the OBC category have also obtained seats concurrently. Apart from them, one candidate each from Kamboj, Kashyap, Kumhar, and Saini castes; five Gujjars and five Ahirs. In addition, 13 Scheduled Caste members have tickets.
