Actually, the whole matter is about an employee working on contract basis in the Divisional Sports Complex of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, who has done such a big feat in a salary of just 13,000. He embezzled 21 crore 59 lakhs from the government treasury under everyone’s nose and no one even got a whiff of it. Needless to say, everyone is shocked after the matter came to light.
The matter came to light after the department official lodged a complaint at the police station
Of course, this incident in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district shocked everyone. The accused Harshal Kumar Anil Kshirsagar mainly worked as a computer operator on contract basis. He, along with one of his accomplices, stole money from the Sports Complex Administration through internet banking. Let us tell you that the main accused in the Rs 21.59 crore case is currently absconding and the police are looking for him. According to media reports, on Tuesday, the Economic Offenses Wing of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar City Police searched a 4BHK flat located near Aurangabad Airport for about 4 hours. In this search, they found only household items. The whole matter came to light when Sports Department official Deepak Kulkarni lodged a complaint at the Jawahar Nagar Police Station.
Other people can also be questioned
The accused had also taken the help of some other people in this case, including Yashoda Shetty and her husband B.K. Jeevan. The police have arrested both of them. In the investigation so far, all the accounts and related documents have been seized and frozen by the police. The police suspect that some more people may be involved in this. At present, the Economic Offenses Wing of the police is interrogating all the people associated with the office and some other people may also be questioned further.

Money transferred to 12 different accounts
It has come to light in the investigation that the main accused allegedly used the old letterhead of the Sports Department and sent an email to the bank. In which a request was made to change the email address linked to the bank account of the sports complex. He had created a similar email address by changing just one letter. After this, he activated the netbanking service for the account of the Divisional Sports Complex Committee with a nationalized bank on Jalna Road. Police said that between July 1 and December 7, 2024, the computer operator transferred money to his and 12 other bank accounts. Rs 3 crore came in one of these accounts. Then with this money, the absconding computer operator bought a BMW car worth 1.2 crores, another SUV worth 1.3 crores, a BMW motorcycle worth 32 lakhs and a luxurious 4BHK flat. He also ordered diamond studded glasses for his girlfriend. The police have already seized the BMW car and bike. Investigation revealed that the accused had transferred money to 12 different accounts.
