Farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Parishad, Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and Samyukta Kisan Morcha are once again marching to Delhi. Farmers will march towards the Parliament complex today with their five main demands. In view of this protest, strict security arrangements have been made in Delhi-NCR and many routes have been changed. According to reports, the farmer’s march will start from the Mahamaya flyover at 12 noon and move towards Delhi on foot and with tractors.

The main demand of the farmers and the reason behind the protest is their demand for their rights and benefits.

Let’s understand about their main demands in 7 points:

  1. After a high-level meeting with the farmers and the administration on Sunday, the farmers said they were not given any concrete assurances.
  2. Announcing the march to Parliament, the Bhartiya Kisan Parishad said farmers will march to the Parliament complex today, demanding compensation and benefits under the new land acquisition law.
  3. The agitating farmer’s organizations have demanded 10% developed plots and all benefits under the Land Acquisition Act to the farmers affected by the land acquisition.
  4. 64.7% additional compensation Farmers have demanded to give 10% of the plot and 64.7% increased compensation under the old acquisition law.
  5. Employment and Rehabilitation An appeal has been made to provide employment and re-development benefits to the children of landless and landless farmers.
  6. The farmers want the recommendations of the high-level committee to be implemented and approved at the government level.
  7. Request for MSP guarantee In addition, Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and Samyukta Kisan Morcha are advocating for the guarantee of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and other problems.

The farmers had also staged a sit-in at the Greater Noida Authority on November 27 and at the Yamuna Authority from November 28 to December 1 last year. This is an attempt by the farmers to put pressure on the government regarding their demands.
