According to the information received, Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe expressed concern about illegal immigrants, especially Africans. Actually, these students enter the country on medical or business visas. And then later get involved in the drug trade.

Navi Mumbai Police is ready to provide a safe environment to celebrate New Year (Drug prevention NYE)
On this matter, Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe said that “People who are illegal immigrants, especially Africans, are involved in the drug trade. They come on student visa, medical visa and business visa, but over time, they start getting involved in the drug trade. Many such people have been arrested and are in jail.” Let us tell you that Navi Mumbai Police has taken action against Africans involved in the drug trade in the last two years. Apart from this, he also said that “Navi Mumbai Police is actively preparing to maintain a peaceful (Drug prevention NYE) environment during the upcoming festivities. The police is taking extensive measures to prevent any unexpected incident and to ensure that all the festivities are conducted smoothly and safely for the community. Navi Mumbai Police is ready to provide a safe environment to the people to celebrate the New Year.”
Officers will be deployed in plain clothes
In view of security, additional police force was deployed at every nook and corner. Not only this, the Police Commissioner also assured that “police personnel will be deployed to ensure the safety of every citizen and urged people to remain responsible during the celebrations and follow the laws and rules.” He further said that “I want to appeal to the people not to drink and drive. There are many farmhouses in Panvel and officers in plain clothes will be deployed to keep an eye on drug consumption (Drug prevention NYE).”

Apart from this, Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory for the public in view of the New Year celebrations in the national capital on Tuesday night (31 December).
