After the assembly elections in Maharashtra on November 20 and the results on November 23, after nearly two weeks of talks, finally a new government was formed today. In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many dignitaries, the leader of the legislative party Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered him the oath of office and secrecy. This is the third time he has taken oath as the Chief Minister. According to media reports, Fadnavis took oath along with two deputy chief ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar and other members of the cabinet will take oath later.
Devendra Fadnavis was the biggest contender for the post of Chief Minister
Let us tell you that the swearing-in ceremony took place at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai. Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Fadnavis and two deputy chief ministers. Devendra Fadnavis became the biggest contender for the post of Chief Minister after winning 132 seats in the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly elections. Let us tell you that the BJP’s Mahayuti alliance along with Shiv Sena and NCP has a total of 230 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly. Before the swearing-in ceremony, Fadnavis first went to the famous Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai this morning and offered prayers there. Not only this, before the swearing-in ceremony, Fadnavis met Governor CP Radhakrishnan along with Shinde and Pawar to stake a formal claim to form the government and handed over letters of support from the alliance’s constituent parties to him.

Devendra Fadnavis has been the Chief Minister twice before
Special arrangements were made for seating of about 40,000 BJP supporters in this swearing-in ceremony held at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. Apart from this, separate seating arrangements were made for 2,000 dignitaries including leaders of different religions. In view of security, more than 4,000 policemen were deployed in this ceremony. Let us tell you that before this Fadnavis has been the Chief Minister twice. He led the BJP-Shiv Sena government for five years from 2014 to 2019. After this, after the alliance with Shiv Sena broke, Fadnavis took oath as Chief Minister in the year 2019 and Ajit Pawar became the Deputy Chief Minister. But this government lasted only 72 hours because Ajit Pawar did not have enough numbers.
