In the case of the alleged sexual harassment of female wrestlers, Brij Bhushan Singh has faced a significant setback from the Delhi High Court. Brij Bhushan had filed a petition seeking the dismissal of the FIR, the chargesheet, and the order for framing charges by the lower court against him. However, the Delhi High Court did not provide him with any relief at this time. The court has asked Brij Bhushan’s lawyer to submit a short note on the matter.
The Delhi Police questioned Brij Bhushan’s petition’s maintainability throughout the hearing. Brij Bhushan was questioned by the Delhi High Court regarding his reason for coming before the court once the case’s charges had been filed. His petition was therefore denied.
The attorney for Brij Bhushan contended that there are six complainants in this case and claimed that the FIR was filed with a secret purpose. The lawyer said that every incident took place at a different location and suggested that there was a planned scheme underlying this. However, the court dismissed the attorney’s arguments, and Bhushan’s case will proceed. The next hearing before the Delhi High Court is scheduled for September 26.
