Let us tell you that Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that “The government is taking steps to fill the vacant posts quickly.” Not only this, in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Rai said “71,231 new posts have been filled in CAPF and AR in the last 5 years.” Giving more information on this, the minister said that “vacancies in CAPF and AR arise due to retirement, establishment of new battalions, resignations, promotions, deaths, creation of new posts etc. and filling them is a continuous process. According to media reports, the data showed that as of October 30, 1,00,204 posts are vacant in CAPF and AR. These include 33,730 posts in CRPF, 12,808 in BSF, 9,861 in ITBP, 31,782 in CISF, 8,646 in SSB and 3,377 in AR.”

For this, the government has reduced the time taken for medical examinations to speed up the recruitment. Not only this, the cut-off marks for shortlisting candidates for Constable-GD have also been reduced so that enough candidates can be found.
