Our diplomats and consulate staff are already working in an environment of extremism and violence. This action of the Canadian government further worsens the situation and is not in accordance with established diplomatic norms and practices.”

In response to another question, he said that “India’s relations with Canada have been challenging and continue to be so because the government there provides political shelter to such extremist and separatist elements who support anti-India agenda and have been abusing Canada’s freedom to carry out violent activities that threaten India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
