The meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the war-torn Ukrainian capital Kyiv is being considered quite successful. After the discussion on the peaceful resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in this meeting, Zelensky said, ‘It was a historic meeting. It is a good start for both countries with some practical steps. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants peace, but the problem is that Putin does not want peace. India can play a big role for peace in the war.’
India can play its role in stopping the war.
While talking to the media, Volodymyr Zelensky said, ‘I think India has recognized that this is not just a war; it is a real war waged by a dictator Putin against an entire country. India can play its role in stopping this war because you are a big country and your influence is also very big on the whole world. If you want, you can stop Putin, stop the economy of Russia, and achieve a new position in the world.’
Ukraine wants to open companies in India.
On the question of buying products made in India and doing business with India, Volodymyr Zelensky said, ‘Yes, we are ready for this. We are ready to exchange with India. We are also ready to buy Indian goods and produce in India. We are ready to open our companies in India. This will be beneficial for both countries.
India is ready to play every role in the effort for peace.
After meeting Volodymyr Zelensky, PM Modi said the solution to any problem comes out of dialogue and diplomacy. Therefore, we should keep moving forward in the same direction without wasting time. My heart is full after seeing the place of martyrdom of children here. I especially want to discuss peace with Ukraine. I want to assure all of you that India will play an active role in every effort for peace. If we can contribute in any way, then as a friend, I would definitely like to do so.’ Let us tell you that India has invited Ukrainian President Zelensky to visit India. However, no date has been fixed yet as to when Zelensky will come.
