The Supreme Court had cancelled the electoral bond scheme in February 2024
It is worth noting here that the account of donations given by BJP and Congress does not include electoral bonds. According to the rules, political parties have to declare this detail only in their annual audit report and not in the contribution report. In February 2024, the Supreme Court had cancelled the electoral bond scheme. Since then, the biggest source of funds for political parties was direct money or money received through electoral trusts.
