According to the information received, people of Bangladeshi-origin American Hindu, Buddhist and Christian community in America have strongly protested. Bangladeshi-origin Americans have urged US President Donald Trump to intervene in relation to the ongoing atrocities against religious and ethnic minorities in Bangladesh.

Bangladeshi-origin Americans requested to protect Hindus
Not only this, Bangladeshi-origin Americans have requested Trump to help protect the minority community in Bangladesh, saying that there is a threat of an existential crisis for the minority community from Islamic forces. Let us tell you that while urging Trump to immediately release Hindu saint Chinmay Krishna Das, the Bangladeshi-origin Americans said that “the threat of radicalism is increasing in Bangladesh, which can have far-reaching effects not only on South Asia but also on the rest of the world.” According to the information, in a memorandum addressed to Trump, people suggested linking Bangladesh’s participation in UN peacekeeping missions with the end of internal ethnic and religious persecution.
Minority Protection Act also proposed
According to media reports, a comprehensive Minority Protection Act has also been proposed to officially recognize minorities and indigenous groups in the memorandum given by the Bangladeshi-origin Americans. These major recommendations include the establishment of safe areas for minority communities, separate electoral system for minorities and making laws against hate speech and inciting crime to protect religious practices and cultural heritage, etc. It will be interesting to see what steps the US President takes for the minority Hindus of Bangladesh.
