The ongoing tension between Russia and Ukraine is not reducing. Amidst the ongoing war, Ukraine has alleged that Russia is behind the crash of the plane going from Azerbaijan to Russia in Kazakhstan on Christmas Day. It is being claimed in the Ukrainian media that Ukraine had carried out drone attacks in Chechnya on Christmas Day, to stop which Russia used air defense missiles. These missiles crashed the Azerbaijani plane.
The plane crashed while landing at the airport
According to the information received, the pilot of the plane going from Baku in Azerbaijan to Chechnya in Russia had reported that a flock of birds had come in front of the plane. It is also being said that due to the collision of the plane with the flock of birds, the engine and other parts of the plane suffered heavy damage. After which the pilot decided to make an emergency landing. The plane hovered over the western areas of Kazakhstan for a long time. The plane crashed while landing at Aktau Airport in Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, the biggest question is whether what the pilot believed to be a flock of birds were actually a large number of drones?
Nothing has been clear in the initial investigation
The video footage and initial investigation have not made it clear whether there was any external attack on the plane. Experts on this matter say that “the pilot’s report and evidence found at the crash site indicate that there was no major external damage to the plane and neither was the plane on fire before landing.” Well, after a missile or drone attack, there is a possibility of a fire in the plane or a part being damaged, but nothing like this is visible in the video.

The Azerbaijani plane crash can further increase tensions between Ukraine and Russia
However, the sudden arrival of a flock of birds and damage to planes is not a new thing. Initial investigation reports suggest that the plane crashed due to technical fault. Nevertheless, Ukrainian officials have called it Russian propaganda and demanded an investigation. According to them, Russia is making the excuse of a flock of birds hitting the Azerbaijani plane to hide the blame for the incident. This is not the first time that a political dispute has arisen due to a plane crash during the Russia-Ukraine war. In 2014, Malaysian Airlines flight MH-17 was shot down by rebels in Donbass with a missile. 298 people were killed in this accident. The case was tried for many years in the Netherlands and Russia was held responsible for the incident internationally. However, it cannot be ruled out that the Azerbaijani plane crash can further increase tensions between Ukraine and its supporting countries and Russia.
