The Modi government at the centre has decided to include the elderly aged 70 years or more in the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). Earlier this scheme was only for poor families and certain types of people like Asha workers. The big thing is that now there will be no income limit in it. Any person can go to his nearest listed hospital and get himself enrolled. Under this scheme, every family gets health insurance of up to Rs 5 lakh every year, so that they can get treatment in big hospitals.

What if the elderly are unable to register themselves?
Suppose if an elderly person is unable to register himself. Then his family members can go to the app or website and register him through beneficiary login.
