Voting is to be held on 20 November for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra. So, all the political parties have started campaigning for their candidates with full force. Meanwhile, during the campaign, all the parties are not only targeting each other but are also not refraining from making inflammatory statements. In one such case, Maharashtra Police has served notice to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen national president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi for his speech. Actually, this notice was given to him when he was on a crowded stage in Solapur and was campaigning for his party candidate Farooq Shabdi from Solapur.
Police can serve this notice under Section 168 of BNS
Let us tell you that the police have given this notice to Asaduddin Owaisi under Section 168 of BNS. In this notice, he has been instructed not to hurt the sentiments of any community in his speech and not to give provocative speech. It is worth noting that according to Section 168 of BNS, every police officer can intervene to prevent the occurrence of any cognizable offence and he can do so to the best of his ability. Well, after receiving the notice, Asaduddin Owaisi was sitting on the seat and reading the notice while talking on the phone. However, the notice did not refer to any speech of Owaisi in which he did not give provocative speech.
Reminded of Akbaruddin Owaisi’s 15-minute statement
While speaking about the notice in his address from the stage, he said, “I have received the notice. But, I do not understand how the police can send a notice during the code of conduct. After the code of conduct is implemented, the returning officer controls the police, so how can the police send a notice without the permission of the returning officer. But, I have no problem.” Not only this, during this time he was also reminded of his younger brother Akbaruddin Owaisi’s 15-minute statement. Referring to the notice, Owaisi said, “It is 9.45, 15 minutes are still left.” Asaduddin did not stop here, he further said that “Very sorry. He further said sarcastically, “Notice is sent only to the groom’s brother and no one else, he only loves Bhaijaan, not others.”

Warning has been given earlier also
However, this is not the first time that Asaduddin Owaisi has been in the headlines for his statements. Earlier, he had reached Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, from where he targeted Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi for changing the name of Aurangabad. Apart from this, while addressing an election rally in Byculla, Mumbai, he also targeted the leaders of both the alliances of Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi. He had said that “Fadnavis, you, Amit Shah and Modi cannot compete with me.” Owaisi said that “Do you know the meaning of Jihad? Fadnavis is saying that if there is vote jihad, then there will be Dharam Yudh. Listen Fadnavis, you do not know the meaning of Jihad. The PM is saying that if there is one, then it is safe. Modi ji talks about Mangalsutra for Muslim women. He talks about Muslim women having more children. You tell me how many children your father has? How many brothers does Amit Shah have?”
