On this day, the ninth manifestation of Goddess Durga, Goddess Siddhidatri, is worshipped. Goddess Siddhidatri is believed to be the giver of all the Siddhis. Their appearance is very beautiful and attractive. By worshipping him, a person gets all kinds of siddhis and ends the obstacles in life. This day of Navratri is also known as’ Mahanavami ‘and is considered to be especially important, as this day is the last and most fruitful day of Navratri.
The nature and significance of Maa Siddhidatri
Maa Siddhidatri is a four-armed goddess and holds a lotus flower, conch, chakra, and mace in her hands. Their vehicle is the lion, but they also sit on the lotus pedestal. The color of Goddess Siddhidatri is pink, which is a symbol of love and compassion. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva attained the eight siddhis by worshipping Maa Siddhidatri. It was with his blessings that Lord Shiva got the form of Ardhanarishvara, indicating that nothing is possible in creation without Goddess Shakti. Worshipping Maa Siddhidatri brings happiness, prosperity, and peace to a person’s life. She bestows her devotees with the eight siddhis: Anima, Mahima, Garima, Lagima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitva, and Vasitva. Special pujas and rituals are performed during Navaratri
Wake up early in the morning, take a bath, wear clean clothes, and decorate the place of worship. Light a lamp in front of the idol or picture of Maa Siddhidatri and offer her sandalwood, akshat, fruits, flowers, and especially pink-colored flowers. Mother is offered halwa, puri, gram, and coconut, as these are dear to her.
During the puja, the Saptashati of Goddess Durga is recited and the mantras of Maa Siddhidatri are chanted. Their main mantra is “Om Devi Siddhidatri Namah. By chanting this mantra, a person gets mental peace, and all his desires are fulfilled. The Navratri festival is also very significant. Through the medium of havan, offerings are made to the goddess, which leads to happiness, peace, and prosperity in the house.
