There is a tough competition in the telecom market in India. On one hand there are Indian companies like Reliance Jio, Vi and Bharti Airtel. On the other hand, there are foreign companies like Starlink and Amazon, which are in the race to provide satellite internet service. Let us tell you that Starlink provides internet facility by installing satellites in the lower orbits of the Earth. Fibre cable is not required for this. It is reported that Elon Musk’s company Starlink is also in the queue to work in India. India’s Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has revealed this. However, no official statement has come from Starlink yet.
The Government of India is ready to give permission to Elon Musk’s company
In fact, Union Minister Scindia said that the Government of India is ready to allow Elon Musk’s company to work in India, provided they have to follow all the rules of India. He said that “there are certain rules for any foreign company to work in India and Starlink will also have to fulfil these rules.” According to media reports, Starlink has agreed on the condition of resolving problems related to data security and keeping it in India.
This will increase competition in the country
Apart from this, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that “We can allow any company, be it Starlink or any other, to work in India. But they will have to follow all the rules of India. They will have to pay special attention to cyber security. If they accept all the rules, we will be happy.” Of course, allowing Starlink to work in India’s satellite internet market is being considered an important step, as it will increase competition in the country, which will benefit the common Indian consumers.
