In the Maharashtra assembly elections held on November 20, the Mahayuti alliance won 230 out of 288 seats. After several days of upheaval, Devendra Fadnavis finally took oath as the Chief Minister on the 12th day i.e. December 5. During that time, Eknath Shinde and NCP leader Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Ministers along with him. Although Fadnavis has taken oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, the ongoing deadlock within the Mahayuti is not ending. Meanwhile, according to the information received, late on Wednesday night, Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda and Fadnavis met Amit Shah at his house. The important thing is that Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar were not present in this meeting. Let us tell you that this meeting took place amid speculations about the allocation of departments.
20 to 22 ministers can be made from BJP camp
If media reports are to be believed, there is a strong possibility of discussions with top BJP leaders on the division of departments during Fadnavis‘ Delhi visit. According to reports, Shiv Sena will not be given the Home Ministry under any circumstances. However, Eknath Shinde is adamant on the demand for the Home Ministry. If we look at the claims of sources, Eknath Shinde will neither be given the Home Ministry nor the Finance Ministry. It is possible that BJP may agree to give him the Urban Development Ministry. According to the information received, there can be a maximum of 43 ministers in the Maharashtra Cabinet, including the Chief Minister. BJP can make 20 to 22 ministers from its own camp, including the Chief Minister. And Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar can make 10 to 12 ministers from the NCP camp. On the delay in talks on the allocation of departments, BJP says that “There are three parties involved in the Mahayuti, so there is a delay.”
