Carrot halwa in winter is made in every house. This traditional sweet is very much liked in the cold season. Its sweetness and warmth win everyone’s heart. Here’s an easy and quick recipe to make it.
Ingredients for making carrot halwa:
- Carrot: 1 kg (grated)
- Milk: 1 litre
- Sugar: 1 cup (as per taste)
- Ghee: 4 tbsp
- Mawa (khoya): 200 gm
- Cashew nuts, almonds, pistachios (for garnish)
- Cardamom powder: 1 small teaspoon (you can also take the ingredients according to you).
Gajar Halwa Recipe
- First, peel the carrot and wash it. Now grate the carrot.
- Fry the grated carrots in ghee in a pan on medium flame.
- When the raw smell from the carrots is gone, add milk to it and mix well.
- Boil the milk and carrots on low flame till the milk dries up completely.
- Add the sugar and continue to cook until the sugar is dissolved.
- Now add mawa to it and mix well and roast for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot carrot halwa.
