According to media reports, the registration number of the bus is MH01-EM-8228. This bus was going from Kurla railway station to Andheri, when this terrible accident happened. According to officials, “the accident happened due to a problem in the brakes of the bus near Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) L. Ward in Kurla.” Giving details about this, he said that “the driver of the BEST bus lost control of the vehicle on route number 332 and the bus hit pedestrians and some vehicles. After this, the bus entered a residential society called Buddha Colony and then stopped. Meanwhile, the bus driver has been taken into custody.

Meanwhile, shortly after the accident, Shiv Sena MLA Dilip Lande told the media that “A bus left from Kurla station, its brakes failed and the driver lost control of the bus. Due to that the driver got scared. Instead of pressing the brake, he put his foot on the accelerator. Due to this, the bus went into high speed and could not be controlled. This is the reason why 30 to 35 people were hit on the road. Well, the police have taken the accused bus driver Sanjay More, 50, into custody. According to eyewitnesses, the bus driver seemed to be drunk and could not control the heavy vehicle. However, State Transport Department Inspector Bharat Jadhav has said that “Prima facie, the brakes of the bus are fine. A detailed investigation will be conducted later.”
