The Bihar government has cancelled the major examination being conducted for recruitment to the contractual posts of Community Health Officer (CHO). In an official notice, the government said that evidence of irregularities has been found in this examination. This recruitment process was being held for appointment to 4500 posts under the National Health Mission, but it has been postponed after the investigation confirmed the error.
The application process for CHO recruitment began on 1 November 2024 and candidates were given time to apply online till 21 November 2024. The selection process will be through a Computer Based Test (CBT).
The Bihar government in its notification has said that the online CBT examination held on 1st December 2024 and scheduled to be held on 2nd December 2024 for selection to the contractual posts of Community Health Officer (CHO) under Advertisement No. 07/2024 of the State Health Committee, Bihar is hereby cancelled. The new dates of the examination will be announced soon.
The reason for the cancellation of the CHO exam was found in the investigation that there have been irregularities at some online exam centers. Even the centres which were already blacklisted were used as examination centres. Following this, the state government decided to cancel the exams.

On Sunday, a team of Patna Police conducted raids at 12 online examination centres, where evidence of irregularities was found. Some persons had been arrested in this connection.
The government has assured that the new dates will be announced soon and strict steps will be taken to make the examination process transparent. Now the candidates will have to wait for new information for selection to 4500 posts.
