They will be forced to face blazing forest fires

Let us tell you that UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) has highlighted the challenges looming over the future of children in a new report. According to the UNICEF report, by the year 2050, the risk of children facing severe heatwaves will increase eight times. Not only this, if compared to the year 2000, the risk of floods can also increase three times in the next 26 years. Not only this, the report also says that in the decade of 2050, environmental and climate related conditions will become worse. Then twice as many children will be forced to face blazing forest fires as compared to 2000.

According to a report of the Children Climate Risk Index, more than 100 crore children in India and other regions of the world are at risk of climate and environmental disasters. According to this report, children in the Central African Republic, Chad, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria are most at risk of climate change. A study has been published in the journal Science of the Total Environment highlighting the climate crisis looming over children in India. According to this study, the risk of infectious diseases is increasing among Indian children due to climate change.

Despite full meals, children are not getting adequate nutrition

Children may have to face extreme heat

Not only this, the report also confirms that most children may have to face extreme heat in East and South Asia as well as Pacific, North, West, Middle East and Central Africa. At the same time, children in East Africa and the Pacific region are likely to be affected the most due to floods. The report has expressed apprehension that the increasing climate risks will affect children more than others.
