The Indian Coast Guard has achieved a major success. According to the news, a consignment of about 5 tons of drugs has been seized from a fishing boat in the Andaman Sea. Defense officials claim that this is the biggest recovery so far. Let us tell you that to stop drug smuggling, the Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy and the Anti-Terrorist Squad of Gujarat Police jointly conducted Operation Sagar Manthan-4. Based on the intelligence received in this operation, a special ship was identified. The Navy caught it through its maritime patrol ships. Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised this success and called it an example of the government’s strong commitment against drugs and excellent coordination between various agencies.

The government is fully committed to stop drug smuggling

Let us tell you that earlier in the beginning of the month, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and other security agencies recovered 700 kg of methamphetamine (meth) from the Gujarat coast. Eight Iranian nationals were arrested in this operation. It is clear from these incidents happening in Indian waters that the drug trade is increasing through the sea route, to stop which the government is constantly taking serious steps. Of course, such a big operation proves that the government is completely serious about stopping drug smuggling.

3500 kg of narcotics have been seized

About 3500 kg of narcotics smuggled through sea route in 2024 has been seized so far. In these operations, 11 Iranian and 14 Pakistani citizens have been arrested. All these foreign nationals are currently in judicial custody and the case is going on against them in the court. This action shows how serious the Government of India is about drug related matters. Even before this, many big consignments have been caught.
