Causes of cracking of heels

  • Many times heels start cracking due to deficiency of vitamin C, vitamin B3 and vitamin E in the body. Because their deficiency causes dryness in the skin. Which later causes cracked heels.
  • One of the reasons for cracking heels is also dehydration. Often people’s heels crack due to lack of water.
  • Walking barefoot can also cause cracked heels. People wear less shoes in summer than in winter. In such a situation, feet often get dirty due to heat, sweat, sun and dust, due to which heels start cracking.

How to treat cracked heels

1) Increase water intake

Water can be an effective solution to prevent your cracked heel problem. Actually, our skin loses about 1 litre of water in a day, which increases the dryness of the skin. Therefore, drinking water is very important to maintain the moisture of the skin.

2) Soak with lukewarm water

Soak your feet with lukewarm water before sleeping at night. Apart from this, to avoid the risk of bacterial infection, mix one teaspoon of salt in lukewarm water and dip the feet in it. After this, dry the feet and apply foot cream with the help of fingers.

3) Mix aloe vera gel in petroleum jelly and apply

Mixing petroleum jelly with aloe vera gel and applying it on the feet before going to bed at night softens the skin of the feet. It helps in curing cracked heels.

4) Coconut oil and aloe vera gel

Mix aloe vera gel in coconut oil and apply it on the heels before going to bed at night and then wear socks. Using it daily will give you relief.

To prevent cracked heels, add fenugreek seeds to vegetable oil, heat it and then apply it on the heels when it cools down, it gives a lot of relief to the feet. Apart from this, clean it from time to time to keep the feet soft and supple.
