These days, there is a war of words going on in the political corridors of Maharashtra between Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen national president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi over the alleged vote jihad. This war was still going on when the central investigation agency ED also entered it. Seeing this, it can only be said that ED is also seen in full action in the case of vote jihad. This is because ED has taken action by conducting search operations at more than 23 locations.
Raids were conducted at 23 locations in the neighbouring state of Gujarat
It is worth noting that these raids have been conducted at 23 locations in the election state Maharashtra and neighbouring state Gujarat. Actually, this matter came to light when BJP leader Kirit Somaiya claimed that about Rs 125 crore was sent from a bank in Malegaon through hawala traders and then this money was sent to several accounts. The allegation is that the purpose of this money was to influence voters before the elections.
Transactions of more than Rs 100 crore revealed
After this disclosure, the central agency has raided a Malegaon businessman under a money laundering case. According to the news, a Malegaon businessman is accused of using fake documents and fake KYC to open several bank accounts. It is believed that transactions of more than Rs 100 crore have taken place from these accounts. 2 people have been arrested in this money laundering action taken by the ED. The arrested people are accused of buying votes by giving crores of rupees to the poor. BJP is calling it a ‘vote jihad’ scam.
