Rifleman Jeevan Singh Rathore, a resident of Rohan village in Sirsa district of Haryana, was killed in a terrorist attack in Kashmir’s Gulmarg. The body of the martyr reached his village late on Friday evening, where it was cremated with state honors. A large number of people had gathered to pay their last respects to the martyr. The only brother of four sisters, Shaheed Jeevan Singh, had joined the army eight years ago.

The mortal remains of Shaheed Jeevan Singh were airlifted to Air Force Station Sirsa. From there, he was taken to the village in an Army vehicle. Thousands of people had gathered on the road to pay their last respects to the deceased. Along the way, flowers were showered on the mortal remains of the martyr, and the entire area reverberated with the chants of Bharat Mata.

When the body of martyr Jeevan Singh Rathore reached his village, Rohan, and his daughters started crying upon seeing the body of their father. At the same time, his wife was in bad condition; she was fainting repeatedly. The women of the village were busy taking care of the martyr’s family, but this heartbreaking scene was making every eye moist.

The cremation was held at the village crematorium with state honors. The victim’s four-year-old daughter lit her father’s funeral pyre. Army and police personnel paid their last respects by firing teargas shells. The martyr’s father, Sukhdev Singh, said that it was a great loss for his family, but he was happy that his son was martyred while serving Mother India. The martyr’s father said that many of his family members are serving the country by joining the army. His son and uncle are also in the army.
